Sunshine Coast suburbs affected by copper cut off

The Coasts dated copper network has started to be cut off as the nbn service is rolled out.

With a significant amount of press and advertising material around this activity, consumer are being led to believe that they have no choice but to switch to the nbn.  This is not the case for the Sunshine Coast

There are another 9000 homes and business affected from 19 November across the area encompassing Currimundi, Meridan Plains, Mountain Creek, Parrearra, Birtinya, Bokarina, Warana, Wurtulla, Minyama and Mooloolaba.

Many consumers are unaware that there is a fast, reliable alternative on the Coast, delivered by Our Community Broadbands fixed wireless service.  By installing a small antenna on a building and connecting it wirelessly to a nearby distribution point, residents and businesses can receive super-fast internet completely off the national grid.  Phone numbers can be retained by transitioning to a Voice over Internet Protocol phone which runs on the internet service. You can even keep your currently phone number by porting it to the new service.

Buderim based company Our Community Broadband, established since 2015 provides a service to hundreds of residents from Tewantin to Caloundra, and is constantly expanding their network as demand grows.
